A Delegation from the Missouri University, visited PSU

Visited PSU on Saturday 16 Safar 1429 - 23 Feb. 2008, delegation from the University of Missouri for Science and Technology, USA. The delegation included: Dr. John Carney University president, Dr. William Dawton head of the department of Engineering and Systems Engineering, Dr. Benjamin Dew from the Engineering Department, and Dr. Henry Wybe Dean of the School of Universal Education, accompanied by Dr. Majid bin Abdullah, Director General, Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud Charity Foundation (SCF), and Dr. Abdel Aziz Almokaweshi Assistant Director General, Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud Charity Foundation.

The delegation was received by Dr. Ahmed Yamani, PSU Rector, the Vice-Rectors of the university, Rector’s Consultant, PSU colleges Deans, the Director of public relations and a number of other PSU officials.

The delegation was shown a film presentation that highlights the scientific and research aspects of the PSU. Then the two sides discussed aspects of possible cooperation between the two universities in scientific and research aspects and exchange of experiences and visits of faculty members and students for the scientific benefits common on both sides.

Thereafter, the delegation was taken on a tour of sections of the university and its departments. Members of the delegation expressed their admiration for, how a newly developed university like PSU, competes with some of the best universities in the world.

It is noteworthy that the delegation's visit comes at the invitation of the SCF under programs sponsored by the foundation for closer cultural and scientific cooperation with the world academies, universities and specialized centers. The Foundation has prepared an intensive program of visits and meetings for the MU delegation to many scientific centers, universities, and historic and cultural monuments sites in Riyadh and several Saudi cities, in addition to visiting SCF various programs and branches; such as the city of Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Humanitarian Services and the Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Medical and Educational Program (Medunet), to get acquainted with the activities of the SCF and its programs and to discuss cultural cooperation means.
