Recently Dr. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Yamani, PSU's Rector, inaugurated Cisco program's labs. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Saad bin Saleh Al-Rwaita, Vice-Rector for Administration and Finance Affairs, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Feda, the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, and some faculty members and a number of students.

Dr. Yamani thanked in his speech the people of the Cisco program for their role in the success of the program, pointing out that the laboratories which opened today is the result of the experience of the university with Cisco co. that was started in 2006 to serve the university students and graduates of other universities who have the desire to devote to networks for the increasingly request of networking specialists in light of the growing interest in the development of the telecommunications and information technology.

For his part, Dr. Saad bin Saleh Al-Rwaita said, "Today we are very excited to see what has been achieved by the Cisco program", noting that the university supports the development of similar programs to achieve the various objectives of the university, including vocational programs and programs related to technology and computer applications.

Dr. Abdul Hafeez Feda said, "This is something the university is pleased and honored to receive, it includes the latest technologies in such field. He pointed out that the development is still going on at the university in its relations with the professional bodies such as Cisco Co."

The ceremony began with a word from engineer Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Ghemlas, Director of the community service and continuing education Center, in which he thanked the attendees, led by the Rector and the vice rectors, who are sparing no effort in providing all support to the academic process, and expressed his pleasure at the opening of the labs which he described as the first yield of a program initiated by the university and Cisco Co. several years ago to bridge the digital divide in the field of networking.
