Bachelor of Science in Finance(BBA)
The Bachelor of Science in Finance program provides students with the knowledge
that qualifies them to pursue a broad range of careers. The program offers three
tracks to choose from: real estate, insurance and investment. In addition, a
co-op program in finance provides students with an opportunity to obtain
career-related job experience through full or part time employment. The program
recognizes that rigor and precision are essential in the financial practices of
today’s financial institutions.
Upon graduation, finance students will have acquired knowledge in different
fields of study and various functional areas of finance, such as: financial
management, financial assets, investment securities, financial institutions,
technical financial skills, computer and statistical skills, insurance, and real
estate management.
Objectives
The Finance program aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Sharpening the student’s analytical and problem-solving skills in corporate
finance, investment, insurance and real estate.
- Keeping the student in touch with the most up-to-date technologies and
information systems by providing access to computerized databases, internet
resources, and financial software.
- Developing and improving the student’s oral and written communication skills
through course work, class presentations and writing assignments.
- Encouraging the spirit of teamwork and enhancing interpersonal skills through
teamwork and group activities in class assignments.

Graduation Requirements:
The College of Business Administration offers a flexible curriculum that leads
to a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Students seeking a degree in this
field are required to take a minimum of 135 semester hours from the framework of
courses that are prescribed by the Department. The expected duration of the
program is eight semesters.
