Professional Education and Community Services:
Since its establishment 10 years ago, the department of computer science
realized that professional education compliments the knowledge gained in
academic programs and improves the chances for employment. It is quite common
that graduates of IT programs face a situation where they should acquire some
skills in a particular area of technology related to some fields. This is
natural, since information technology is fast evolving every day.
Another observation is that professional programs and hands-on practice greatly
enhance the academic learning process, broaden the mentality of students and
improve their lifelong learning capabilities.
Accordingly, the department of computer science started offering and organizing
a number of professional courses programs open for our students and the
community at large. The most recent of these are:
The NetVersity Program:
The NetVersity Program: This program was a joint venture between the university
and CISCO, the first of its kind in the world. NetVersity is a one-year
professional program that aims to prepare professionals in the area of
networking.
The CisCoVersity Program:
The CisCoVersity Program: This is a more focused one-year professional program
that builds on the experience on the NetVersity Program and provide more depth
in some areas as well as some new topics.

The Oracle University Program: This is the latest of our one-year professional
programs and aims to prepare professionals in the area of databases and ERP
systems.
