Dr. Alex Borodai

Dr. Alexei Borodai received his doctoral degree from Kiev State University of Sport and Physical Education, which has high international recognition due the fact that more than 80 Olympic Champions received degree from this institution. At this University he served as Assistance professor and teaches many different courses related to PE and sport.

As the athlete and the coach he was member of Nationals Teams of USSR, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia. With these teams he participates at many International competitions including Arab, Asian, World championships and last two Olympic Games 2004 (Athens) and 2008 (Beijing).
He joined PSU in 2008 and teaches different courses at PEHR department including: beginner and intermediate swimming; beginner and intermediate weight training; PE 001 courses. Dr. Alex also serves as a member of Quality Assurance Continues Improvement Committee in PSU and member of Research committee at PEHR.

Dr. Jose P. Catapang

Dr. Joey joined the PSU Physical Education Department in 2002 and was instrumental in organizing the University Health Club and PSU Volleyball Team. He was also a key speaker in the 2004 PSU Health Awareness Week.

With his extensive background in research and organizational management, Dr. Joey was appointed Director of the PSU Academic and Assessment Planning Center in 2005. He teaches university-level physical education courses as well as introductory courses in psychology as part of the required general education courses.

Won Dae Kim, Ph.D. graduated Texas AM University and joined PSU in 2008. He is orginally from South Korea and earned his master and bachelor degree from Seoul National University in South Korea. He had 10 years of athletic experience and used to play in the U-League of the South Korean Soccer.

He teaches beginner and intermediate soccer as well as table tennis, weight training, and preparatory physical education 001, 002 at PSU.

He serves in the Instructional Committee and Website Development Committee as a chair and serves in the Research Committee as a member in the dept. of PEHR.

Undergraduate studies: Candidatus Magistrii in sport science and coaching, 2002, the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. Undergraduate studies: B.A. in Physical Education, 1999, the University of Jordan. .
Work experience:
• Worked at the Norwegian Olympic federation as scientific assistant.
• Worked at the Norwegian school of sport sciences as scientific assistant.
• Worked at Nordland University (Norway) as a lecturer and researcher.

Hussain A. Yasin, Ph.D. graduated Om Durman University ( Sudan ) and joined PSU in 2010. He is orginally from Jordan and earned his master and bachelor degree from Jordan. He had 15 years of athletic experience.

He is the soccer coach of the PSU team and he also teaches beginner and intermediate soccer as well as table tennis and preparatory physical education 001 at PSU.

Alex Carting Soligam, who has been palying and coaching badminton since 1980, was the first coach to win a back-to-back badminton championship games during the 2000 and 2001 NCAA-South Games in Manila

He has taught and coached the sport at both the high school and college levels in the Philippines for 20 years. He joined PSU-PE Department since 2002 and introduced badminton in Prince Sultan University. He teaches both Beginner and Intermediate Badminton. Outside of his teaching load he also serve as Intramural Sports Coordinator together with Mr.Macky Pornan.

Alex received his degree in Psychology and Graduate Certificate in Physical Education fom Philippine Normal College Manila. He is married with two kids Alan Nicole and Ariana Marie.

Mr. Marshall C. Defensor

Marshall Defensor, MA, was an active figure in the Philippine Women’s Basketball scene before joining the PSU Physical Education Faculty in 2005. With his extensive coaching experience, Marshall led the Philippine Normal University Women’s Basketball Team to 2 championship titles in the Metro Manila Inter-Collegiate Athletic Association in 2000 and 2002.

Marshall, with a major in Physical Education, received his Bachelor’s of Science as well as his Master’s of Arts from the Philippine Normal University, where he also served as an Assistant Professor and Sports Director from 2002 to 2005.

Mr. Ibnossoud K. Egil

A former member of the Philippine National Swimming Team, Ibnossoud Egil earned his academic credentials from the Philippine School of Business Admnistration in 1978.

Egil worked as a swimming instructor for the United States Sports Academy in KSA from 1982 to 1999. He joined PSU in 1999 and has taught swimming both for the PE and recreation programs.

Egil is also a martial arts expert having won three championship titles in Karate and an active member of the Riyadh Bowling Association.
