Science
The undergraduate Computer Science program at PSU is structured into a number of
modules, comprising the following types of courses: college requirements,
department requirements and program requirements.
The program requirements consist of CS core, CS complementary, CS elective
courses and business background requirements. All courses can be taken at any
time of study although all prerequisite courses must be taken before their
respective requisite ones. All courses of the program requirements, except the
"core" courses, must be selected according to a set of rules and according to
individual desires and future career aspirations. Note that "core'' courses are
those a student majoring in Computer Science must take; "complementary''
computer science courses are chosen from a restricted set of courses to enrich
and broaden the student's knowledge in the main areas of computer science.
Bachelor of science in
Information Systems
The undergraduate Information Systems (IS) program of the College of Computer
and Information Sciences at PSU is a multi-disciplinary program. It combines
knowledge from the fields of computer science and business administration along
with principles and theories of information systems. The program is structured
into a number of modules comprising the following types of courses: college
requirements, department requirements, and program requirements. College and
Department requirements have both been described in earlier sections of this
catalog.
The Program requirements account for 50 of the total 134 credit hours that an IS
student must complete. These consist of core courses, elective courses, and
supporting courses. Core courses are those that constitute the main areas of
knowledge of the IS discipline. IS elective courses are a list of courses that
introduce different topics of information systems, some of which are more
advanced studies in certain areas of the discipline. Supporting courses
represent the foundation business knowledge for an Information Systems student
and a communication course that strengthens the student’s technical
communication skills.

Administration in Finance
Graduation Requirements: The College of Business Administration offers a
flexible curriculum that leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
Students seeking a degree in this field are required to take a minimum of 135
semester hours from the framework of courses that are prescribed by the
Department. The expected duration of the program is eight semesters.

Administration in Accounting
The accounting program provides high-quality training and education in
accounting. The program is designed to furnish students with the necessary
background and skills for undertaking a variety of accounting occupations. In
addition, internship in accounting provide students with an opportunity to
obtain career-related job experience through full or part time employment. The
program recognizes that precision and rigor are essential in the accounting
practices of today's business and non-business institutions.
The program provides an opportunity to obtain a comprehensive foundation in
accounting, and advance knowledge in specific accounting and other business
related areas, such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing,
accounting information systems, macro- and micro-economics, money and banking,
information technology, and marketing and statistics.

Administration in Marketing
The College of Business Administration offers a flexible curriculum that leads
to a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Students seeking a degree in this
field are required to take a minimum of 135 semester hours from the framework of
courses that are prescribed by the Department. The expected duration of the
program is eight semesters.
