A Word from a Trainer
The Certified Training Professional (CTP) ensures
that instructors who teach the International
Computer Driver License (ICDL) syllabi are well
trained in the philosophy of course design and the
art and styles of teaching and learning in
accordance with the rules of the ICDL in general and
ICDL-Saudi Arabia (ICDL-SA) in particular. Both
ICDL-SA and Prince Sultan University, hence forth
will be referred to as The CTP Partners, work
together in this CTP project which is also known as
the “train the trainers” program. The role of the
former is to provide the syllabi, organize workshop,
and process applications of trainers interested in
the CTP certificate. The role of the latter is to
provide the training, its needs, and the
environment.
The links below show several groups of trainer who
attended the CTP workshops. They are skilled
professional. At this point the trainers have
complete All But the Documents for Evidences (ABDE)
necessary for fulfilling the requirements of the CTP
certificate.

CTP Course Website
An incredible derivative of the CTP workshop is
sharing of experiences. We witnessed during the
extra curricula activities sessions problems
discussed and brilliant solutions proposed. This led
us to conclude that The CTP Partners and
stakeholders should seriously think about forming a
CTP Society. Such society should include as members
those who successfully completed and earned their
CTP certifications. Among the main activities of the
CTP Society we propose an annual conference. The
conference should be at least two days long and
should bring experts in education from ICDL Saudi
and ICDL Home office for the main talks (banquet
talks!). Regular sessions should be scheduled for
talks to be delivered by authors of refereed papers
in the ICDL and CTP realms.
For the time being, attendees of every completed
workshop have agreed to share a website which will
act as a Timeless and Placeless CTP Conference
(TP-CTP-C) home. Such home will keep members of each
group in touch with one another for life. The annual
conference will provide the forum that will bring
together members of all groups along with
representatives of the CTP Partners and
stakeholders.
We are very happy to be involved in the CTP Partners
project. In our opinion, the CTP project is the
factory that will produce the necessary skills and
provide the required knowledge for computer users.
This is especially true with those who will fulfill
the aim of the Kingdom in becoming a leader in the
information technology area in general, and in the
e-Government project in particular. We promise to
continue to produce the building bricks for the said
project and will therefore be in touch through our
website, so you be.
On behalf of The CTP-Partners we welcome your
comments and feedback. We are also glad to share
with you our experience of observing excellent
remarks being made during the discussions.
