PSU Deanship of Student Affairs had organized recreational sports activity and dinner party


A The PSU Student Deanship organized a recreational sports activity for University students and staff on Monday 5 May, 2008; (29/04/1429 AH). The function included many sports activities e.g. karate competitions for juniors and professionals, a football match between students and faculty members, general information contests and an open meeting with Dr. Ahmed Al-Yamani and key University figures during which University matters were discussed.

The evening kicked-off with a series of Karate contests as part of PSU 2008 Open Karate Championship. Abdullah Said snatched the ‘Best Player’ prize. The Fastest Knock-out’ title was won by Yazid Al-Suwailem and the best ‘Fighting Spirit’ by Abdul Rahman Al-Suqaili.

A junior demonstration fight was performed by Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Qadir Al-Khatib and Mazin bin Khaled Nassurullah.

At the end of the Karate championship functions, PSU rector, Dr. Ahmed AL-Yamani handed in cups and prizes to winners, participants and organizers of the championship.

The Karate club and the PSU Student Deanship presented a commemorative plaque to Mr. Adnan Al-Tarshah who, in turn, gave away copies of his latest book “End of Nations” to key PSU figures. Commemorative photos were then taken.

The Karate activities were followed by a football match where students played against faculty members. It was a good game in which the students team outplayed their contesters. The final result, though, was a draw as the students wanted!. They could have easily won the match!

The concluding event was the rector’s meeting with PSU students, faculty and staff members, which took place at the PSU playground in a nice cool weather. This part of the evening started with a poem by faculty member Dr. Yahya bin Naser Al-Sarhan in which he revealed his -until then- undisclosed love to PSU !!

Representatives of the Student Activities unit at the University then presented some light/amusement activities.

After that, the PSU rector handed in prizes to winners of the activities, and the attendants then joined a nice dinner banquet prepared for the evening.

The attendees expressed their happiness and satisfaction for the fun and amusement which had during the evening which concluded at 10:30 pm.
