In October 2014, Prince Sultan University became the first institution within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to establish a Professional Certificate of Teaching and Learning for Higher Education in collaboration with the Higher Education Academy from the United Kingdom.
Collaboration between PSU and the Higher Education Academy has led to PSU having the first recognized Principal Fellows and Senior Fellows in the GCC countries. In addition to this, PSU has already established a community of over 70 fellows during the first two years of this collaboration and hopes to expand this number to at least 100 by the end of the next academic year.
There are only 560 Principal Fellows (PFs) in the world and only 30 of those exist outside of the UK. PSU has produced 4 PFs who are amongst this very select group of individuals. This exudes the quality of not only Prince Sultan University’s educational system, but the quality of the esteemed faculty members who teach there.
They are well on their way to becoming a Center of Excellence within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and beyond. In the upcoming year, they will become subscribers to the HEA and apply for accreditation of the Certificate program. Once they have achieved accreditation, they will open the certificate program to faculty members from other institutions.
