Murshed Project Among Finalists for DELL-EMC Graduation Project Competition

“Envision the Future” is Dell EMC’s annual graduation project competition for senior undergraduate students from universities in Turkey, Middle East, and Africa. The competition aims to enhance students’ creativity and let them actively contribute to IT society. The PSU team from the women campus was represented by Dalyah Aljamal, Rahaf Haj Aissa, and Reem Abu Dayyah Software Engineering students, from the Department of Computer Science. They initiated a project in one of the program courses under the supervision of Dr. Evi Mansor.


The project was named Murshed, an Arabic name which means the Guide. Murshed’s purpose is to assist parents in locating and tracking their children especially in public places where the chance to lose a child increase. DELL competition has three milestones. The first milestone required submitting some information about the idea of the project, the scope, and the plan for the next milestones. The second milestone concerned the design of the application including the requirements, analysis and user interfaces. The last milestone required more implementation details, testing and evaluation processes made to assess the final product. The final results were announced on 10th of August 2017 and Murshed project was among the 27 finalists out of 214 submissions from 11 countries! Only one teams from 5 countries reached the final stage.  The same team Participated in Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) 2017 - Zayed University, Dubai for a lightening presentation and they acquired the Honorable Mention Award.
