Toastmasters Corporate Recognition Award

Congratulations PSU!  Corporate Recognition Award

International Toastmasters President Visit PSU

This was a historical month for all of PSU’s Toastmasters Clubs and PSU! It was the first time for the International Toastmasters President ever visit PSU.  It was also the first time for PSU to receive the Corporate Recognition Award from Toastmasters International. It was also the first time Toastmasters had an event streamed live online via GoToMeeting!  On Monday, April 21st, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Balraj Arunasalam (International President of Toastmasters) and James Taruc (President of District 79/north, central, and eastern regions of Saudi Arabia) spoke to PS​U Toastmasters, staff, and faculty.  In addition to these Toastmaster dignitaries, Dr. Rimah Al Yahya (Vice Rector of the Women’s Campus) eloquently spoke about the importance of Toastmasters, Mr. Jonathan Tarbox (PSU Falcons Toastmaster Club Coordinator/ English Department Faculty Member) talked about the history of Toastmasters at PSU. At the end of the program, DTM James Turuc congratulated the PSU Toastmasters, and Ms. Sarah Al-Shareef (PSU Bilingual Toastmasters Club Coordinator/ Research and Initiatives Coordinator) welcomed PSU students to share how Toastmasters changed their lives.  The following PSU members spoke during the event:
 ​ • TM Rawaan Al Furaih (PSU Alumni, Previous Area #3 Director, Previous TM Club Officer, and Co-Founder of Yallah Banat Riyadh Toastmasters Club (first Arabic Club for women in the world) and Entrepreneur).
• DTM Ghaida Meigal (PSU Law Student, Previous Area #3 Director, Previous PSU Toastmasters Club President, PSU Toastmasters Arabic Advisor, Mentor, and Co-Founder). 
• TM Lujain Assaf (PSU Finance Student, District 79 Officer, and Previous Club Officer)
• Noha Gwaiz (PSU Computer Science Student, Area #3 Speech Contest Winner, Division A Competition Winner, and Future TM Officer)  
• TM Reem Attache (PSU Toastmasters Arabic Club Officer, Advanced TM, and Previous National Competition Winner)
• TM Firas Abdo (PSU Production Engineering Student, PSU Falcons President)
• TM Mohammed Babiker (PSU Software Engineering Student, PSU Falcons Vice President of Education)
• TM Farooq Awad (PSU Finance Student, PSU Falcons Sergeant-at-Arms)
We would like to thank all of our Toastmaster members and coordinators who helped us achieve this award.  We would like to thank all PSU faculty, staff, and students that attended the event. Toastmasters would like to thank higher management for all of their support.  We would like to especially like to thank Dr. Rimah Al Yahya for speaking at the event, always inspiring our young female leaders, and continuously motivating our students to join Toastmasters.  We would like to thank PR (Dr. Yazeed Al Fakhri, Mr. Ayman Al-Shaikh, Ms. Hafsah, Ms. Kholoud, Mr. Mohammed Al-Harbi and all supporting staff; Ms. Sawan Madhi and Media staff for their respective support.  Finally, we would also like to thank the ITC Staff Dr. Mamdou Al Enezi, Mr. Waseem Jaweed, Ms. Hafsa Ekrish, and Mr. Coronado D. Romero for making the live stream a reality and providing a connection for our students and faculty on the women’s campus.
