Prince Sultan University hosts the 6th Inter-University Translation Competition

Under the patronage of Prince Sultan University, the Translation and Authoring Center (TAC) Organized the 6th inter-university translation competition with the presence of the Vice Rector of women College Dr. Reemah Al-Yahya, representatives of the participated universities and a large number of guests interested in translation. Riyad Bank sponsors the competition for the fourth time.

Eight universities competed in two tracks of the contest the oral and the written. The teams were from King Saud University, Princess Nora University, Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, Prince Sultan University, Prince Sattam Bin Abdul-Aziz University, University of Jeddah, University of Hail and Imam Abdurrahman Bin Faisal University.

A translation exhibition accompanied the event, 14 centers and universities concerned with languages and translation presented their work. In addition to the participating universities, King Abdullah Institute for Translation and Arabization, king Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Arabic Language, Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Non-Arabic Speakers, Al-Shegrey library, Traajim and Prince Sultan University library were among the participants of the exhibit.

After a long competition that lasted for almost six hours, the winners were announced by the referees and honored by the Vice Rector Dr. Reemah Al-Yahya who also honored the participating centers in the exhibition and Riyad Bank for their continues support.  

The winners of the consecutive interpretation track were Prince Sultan University (first place), University of Jeddah (second place) and King Saud University (third place) The winners of the written track were University of Jeddah (first place), Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (second place) and King Saud University (third place) All the winners were rewarded by the Vice Rector Dr. Reemah Al.Yahya with certificates and plaques.
