HRH Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Emir of Riyadh Region Receives PSU Graduates

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Emir of Riyadh Region has received in his office at Al-Hukm Palace, the chairman of PSU Board of Trustees, members of the Board, PSU’s Rector, Vice Rectors, Deans of colleges, heads of academic sections, a number of PSU faculty members and the fifth batch of its graduates for the academic year 2007/2008.

The graduates shook hand with HRH Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and received their certificates from him. HRH welcomed the graduates, PSU Rector and faculty members, and expressed his delight for the excellent results the graduates have achieved. He congratulated them and wished them successful careers. HRH the Emir of Riyadh also thanked the PSU management and faculty members for their efforts in making PSU successful.

HRH then congratulated the graduates and said: “Your country is proud of you, and therefore, I advise you to look at your new life as an obligation that you perform for your country and countrymen. You are going to work at government or private institutions, and will have to think first of the interest of your country and employers. Your country deserves your faithful services. And we are here today to bear the fruits of your hard work and celebrate this happy occasion, which we are hoping to celebrate every year. I wish you all success in your professional life.

His Highness Prince Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Mohamed bin Ayaf said that PSU realizes its responsibility of offering its students quality education and training. He also expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness the Emir of Riyadh Region for his unlimited and continued support to PSU.

HE Dr. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Yamani, PSU Rector, pointed out that this fifth batch of PSU (men) gradates of the college of Computer Science and Information and the college of Business Administration comprises 75 men students, together with an equal number of women graduates (from the College for Women). He said this clearly indicates an increased turn out of students who are approaching PSU for quality education because of the good reputation PSU graduates have in the labour market.

He explained that PSU is the first non-profit private university in Saudi Arabia that strives to achieve a strategy of educational excellence, reiterating that the University has always been updating and developing its study plans to suit the changing needs of the labour market in terms of educational/professional qualification and communication skills that all graduates need in their practical life.

The PSU Rector added that the University has also been affiliating with some of the most prestigious universities in the world such as Oxford University and the University of Kansas to enable students of excellent performance to pursue their education or complete the practical part of their studies at these universities.

He concluded that PSU has been attracting world-class faculty members who have remarkable record of academic research, pointing out that PSU is getting academic advice form the above renowned universities and offering strong support to its in-house research activities.
