In preparation for their trip
to Japan in July
Prince Sultan University students learn Japanese

Hosted recently by the Deanship of Students Affairs
and the PSU's Office of International Relations,
Professor Takuya Kanamori, the cultural attaché at
the Japanese Embassy, and Mr. Wael Jad assistant in
cultural and media affairs at the Japanese embassy.
The meeting was aimed for the preparation of
students participating in a trip to Japan organized
by PSU in collaboration with the University of
Naquya, Japan, in July.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saad Bin Abdul Aziz
Al Moosa, Dean of Students Affairs, and Dr. Kenneth
Clinker, Director of International Relations Office,
and PSU's students participating in the trip.
In the beginning, Professor Kanamori talked about
the details of cultural relations between Saudi
Arabia and Japan, pointing out that more than one
hundred Saudi students are pursuing their university
studies or higher education in Japan through a
number of educational grants provided by the
Government of Japan, in addition to the presence of
(231) Saudi students in Japan under the grants
program of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for
students emission.
Also addressed in his speech the Japanese culture
and customs and explained some models and mechanisms
for cultural and knowledge exchange between the two
countries. He then presented a detailed account of
the Naquya City in which the University of Naquya is
placed. Finally, he addressed the arrangements that
should be taken into account by Japan visitors, such
as the airport procedures, means of transportation,
tourist sites, markets, and restaurants.
It should be noted that the program of the trip will
include an intensive course on the culture and
history of Japan and Japanese society discriminates
on the side of technical and scientific knowledge
produced by the University of Naquya. As well as
visiting a number of monuments and cultural centers,
in addition to some industrial and technical
organizations in Naquya and in Japan in general,
such as Toyota Motors and the Japanese museum. In
addition to a program of cultural and knowledge
exchange with students at the University of Naquya,
and a friendly football match between students of
the two universities.
