Vision
Given technological advances and the changing nature of higher education, the Library will be more technology-driven. Historic hardbound journal collections will be supported with electronic collections. Delivery of materials from remote sites will be faster. A growing number of digitized library materials will be available, with the original work accessible only under special conditions. Professional librarians will spend more time handling user services and distance education questions than they currently do. Library systems will also be more integrated with those of the campus and other institutions. The PSU Central Library overall will function more as a campus community center, with more public activities, sponsored events, meetings, etc. besides being a place of quiet study.
