Course Policy and Grading System

Each activity, consisting of 10 sessions each, will be assessed as follows:

Skill/Performance 75%
Attendance 25%
Total 100%

The student’s final grade shall be the computed as the average of the 3 activities minus the applicable penalties.

Final Grade = Average (Activity 1, Activity 2, Activity 3) - penalties

Due to the practical, hands on nature of this subject, where students must physically participate and experience the activities within the course to benefit and learn from those experiences, students will be penalized for non participation.

Grades will be reduced by 1% for attendance without suitable sporting attire and 1% for attending class more than five minutes late. If a student records eight unexcused absences within the semester he will be awarded a DN grade and be required to re-enroll in the course the following semester.

80% ATTENDANCE RULE
Students must attend 80% of the total number of sessions in a semester (i.e, attending 24 out of 30 sessions or incurring 6 unexcused absences). Failure to so do shall result to an automatic grade of F. Only when the student’s actual performance in class is meritorious shall 7 excused absences be allowed and an additional project or work shall be required from such students.

Incurring 8 unexcused absences will result in an automatic F grade.
