His Royal Highness; Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Ahmed bin
Abdul-Aziz; President of the Regional Office of the
International Agency Against Blindness for the
Eastern Mediterranean, honored PSU and the large
role it plays in the promotion of higher education
in the Kingdom. His Royal Highness has drawn
attention to considering the enormous potentials
developed by the university in the service of its
students and faculty members, stressing that the
university; with its distinguished major
disciplines; is a prominent model of the current
evolution of higher education in the era of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin
Abdul-Aziz and HRH Running-Mate Prince Sultan bin
Abdul-Aziz; may be conserved by God.
His Royal Highness Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Ahmed had
visited PSU on Sunday afternoon eleventh of Muharram
1429 A.H., conformist to 20/1/2008G., and was
received by HE Rector Dr. Ahmed Yamani, HE Rector’s
Councilor for Administrative Affairs Dr. Saad
Alrowetea, HE Rector’s Councilor for Academic
Affairs Dr. Abdul-Hafeeth Feda, HE Rector’s
consultant Dr. Obeid Abdali, Dr. Abdel Rahman Al-lowaiheq,
a member of the faculty and supervisor of
activities, Dr. Abdul-Qader Al-Khateeb, a member of
the faculty, Mr. Ayman Al Sheikh Director of Public
Relations, and a number of other PSU officials.
At a break in Prince Salman meeting Hall lasting for
a half hour, HRH Prince Abdul-Aziz talked about
education in the past, how serious and relentless
students were, science collecting, and striving for
success, despite the lack of many potentials; and
the primitive equipments that were available at that
time; yet the principles they learned in the past
have become the backbone of many important life
fields at present. He celebrated at the same time
those teachers whose massive efforts were
accredited; after God; for the science they have
taught us, he said. HRH urged PSU students to
intensify their efforts and take advantage of the
great potentials available in the university, and to
patience if they dealt with some passion or rigorous
professors, he said. During his talk, HRH said that
students should elaborately understand that they
will reap their effort’s yield in the future, if God
permitted. HRH finished his talk saying that
students should not rush after graduation directly
to high-level positions; because there is a
functionally well known gradual system that an
employee must pass by to learn many practical skills
and get more experience.
We would like to draw the reader's attention to the
PSU newspaper (Taif Al-Jameah) which will be
published; with the authorization of His Almighty
The God; a lengthy dialogue with HRH in one of its
coming issues.
