This Workshop is
being organized by the English Department in the Women’s
College. It will be held on the 9th and 10th
of December (Wednesday and Thursday of this week) from
8:00 to 5:00 each day. The venue here in the Men’s
College will be Prince Salman Hall. The proceedings will
be opened by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Yamani, Rector of
Prince Sultan University.
The Workshop has
three main goals:

To highlight the
role played by language technology in today’s world
·
To explore
challenging areas in Translation, Applied Linguistics
and Computational Linguistics
·
To exchange
ideas and engage in academic dialogue with faculty
members from different Saudi universities.
Accordingly,
certain topics will be of interest to Faculty from
departments other than English. In particular, Faculty
from the CIS Department should find certain areas to be
of value.
The Keynote
Speaker will be Dr. Ahmed Yamani of Saudi Telecom
Company, who will speak on
Human-Computer
Interaction: an Artificial Intelligence Approach.
