Early on Monday morning, twelve selected students from Prince Sultan
University, Riyadh, flew off to Germany for the Football World Cup. They
are on an exchange visit organized with Hamburg University and will be
hosted by their German counterparts and their families during their stay.
This World Cup trip, to support the Saudi National Team, has also received
support from the Saudi Football Association.
The PSU Sons of the Desert – their official name during the Tour – will be
attending several live World Cup matches and supporting the other Saudi
Team. In addition, the PSU group will conquer Germany's highest peak, the
Zuguspitze (by cablecar), visit the Bundestag, attend lectures at Hamburg
University, tour the beautiful old town of Heidelberg, and much more.
After a warm welcome in Hamburg, on Monday morning, they will travel with
their young German hosts mainly by coach, but also by canal boat and
high-speed train.
So, watch your screens for the Saudi National Team and the PSU Team: on
Wednesday 14th June for KSA vs Tunisia; Monday 19th for KSA vs
Ukraine; and Friday 23rd for KSA vs Spain. The full programme
and a photo of the Hamburg University hosts can be seen on the PSU
website, which will also carry daily updates on the exchange trip:
www.psu.edu.sa.
At some time in the future, Prince Sultan University, the Kingdom's first
private university, will invite their German hosts to the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia.
The PSU Team are proud to be representing not just their University, but
Riyadh, their country and all Saudi young people. We wish them well!
