With the patronage of His Highness Prince Dr. Abdul
Aziz Bin Mohammed Bin Ayaf, Riyadh Mayor, Chairman
of the Board of Trustees of PSU, the closing
ceremony for the university's activities for this
year was organized on Monday, 8/6/2009, by the
Deanship of Student Affairs and was sponsored by Al-Faisaliah
Holding Group. Bin Ayaf said that PSU was a distinct
project since its inception. He added that the
University has reserved for itself a good position
in the hierarchy of universities in Saudi Arabia. He
expressed his hope for the continued efforts to live
up to the world wide ranking. He said that it is not
surprisingly for PSU to be distinguished, since it
is sponsored by His Highness Prince Sultan and HH
Prince Salman - conservation of God upon them. He
referred to the various needs of the labor market
and that PSU's graduates are wanted everywhere in
the labor market, even before their graduation.
The ceremony began with an opening word from Dr.
Ahmed bin Saleh Al Yamani, PSU's Rector, in which he
pointed out that PSU is celebrating the closing of
student's activities for this year, reaping the
fruits of this academic year which is added to the
march of ten years ago when PSU was first opened as
the first private higher education college in KSA.
He added that during that period, PSU has
accompanied its name with excellence in higher
education. This shows the view of the quality of the
university's graduates who proved very good at the
labor market and have become a mirror of the
University.
He added: PSU's attention to extra-curricular
student activities provided internally and
externally has contributed to raising the level of
PSU's students. This is an important element in
building an integrated personality of students. This
is coming from the belief that a university is not
only an educational place. It should include a
variety of programs and activities that contribute
to the preparation of a student to meet the changes
and evolution of life. In addition to the
development of his abilities to interact with
society and to deal positively with others.
He also pointed out that all activities were
reflected on the outputs of the university and its
product of outstanding students, making the
employment market distinguish them from their peers
from other universities to the extent that many of
the students are receiving excellent job offers
before graduation through the cooperative education
program.
At the conclusion of his speech, Dr. Yamani gave his
sincere thanks and appreciation to HH Dr. Abdul Aziz
bin Mohammed bin Ayaf for his unstinting support of
the University, and for his eagerness to sponsor the
ceremony each year.
After that, Dr. Saad Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Moosa, Dean
of Student Affairs, gave a speech in which he said:
"As the Student Affairs Deanship wraps up the
student's activities for this academic year by which
the university finished out its first decade of its
life, it was studded with achievements and
contribution."
He pointed out that the university has been under
qualified and wise management, since its inception,
that enabled it to reduce the time needed to reach
the center of the private tertiary higher education
institutions. It also provided for youth - of both
sexes – an arena of excellence and creativity, and
an arena of competition and talent and experience
refinement. He added also that the Deanship of
Student Affairs is surrounding the student, who is
the center of the educational process, with its care
and sponsorship immediately after his joining. That
includes the provision of safe but scientific
environment, which helped to build student's
knowledge capacity and to develop personal
straightness and balanced skills.
The student's Word
After that, the student Mamdouh bin khalaf
Al-Enazi from the faculty of Computer and
Information Systems presented the student's speech
in which he said: "We are proud to be at PSU which
contains unique and distinct students, and which has
made agreements with prestigious universities
worldwide. He provided a letter to the university's
administration to care with everything that will add
to the benefit of the community like general
lectures and seminars, pointing out that the success
of the student lies in the clarity of the purpose
that he's seeking.
Subsequently, a number of students play a comedian
comic entitled "Rumors Oh. World" about the rumors
about sewing machines that have been recently
deployed on a large scale.
In conclusion, His Highness Prince Bin Ayaf honored
the outstanding students and the commission’s
participating in the activities. Then drawing began
on a number of awards like mobile computers and
mobile phones. After that Al-Riyadh, Al-Eqtesadeiah,
and Al-Jazeera newspapers were honored for their
support for PSU's activities. Finally Al-Faisaliah
Holding Group Company was honored for sponsoring the
ceremony.
