From Heritage to Innovation: A Student Exhibition on Salmani Architecture
The Salmani Architecture Club in the Department of Architecture at the College of Architecture and Design organized a one-day student exhibition on Sunday, 18 January 2026, in the lobby of Building 102 at Prince Sultan University. The exhibition showcased students’ projects, drawings, and architectural models that reflected their engagement with Salmani architecture and the Kingdom’s heritage buildings. The exhibition aimed to enhance understanding of the historical foundations of Saudi architecture and to link them with the contemporary approach, thereby contributing to the reinforcement of the national architectural identity.
The exhibition served as an educational and cultural platform that raised awareness of Saudi architectural heritage and highlighted Najdi architecture and the principles of modern Salmani architecture. It also encouraged female students to apply these concepts in their academic and professional projects. This initiative supports heritage based architectural innovation and promotes a balanced integration of authenticity and modernity in design.
