Accounting Chair wins IMA Faculty Leadership Award

Dr. Mohammad Nurunnabi, SFHEA FRSA FAIA (Acad), the Aide to the Rector on Research and Internationalization, and chair, Department of Accounting at Prince Sultan University in Saudi Arabia, has been selected to receive the IMA Faculty Leadership Award 2017. Dr. Nurunnabi holds a Ph.D. in Accounting (International Financial Reporting Standards �ô IFRS) with outright pass (no corrections) from the University of Edinburgh, U.K. He is a SeniorFellow of Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), U.K., an academic fellow of the Association of International Accountants(FAIA-Acad), and afellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).His most recent book is The Role of the State and Accounting Transparency (Routledge: London and New York; 2016). He has published 22 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including ABDC Ranked, ERA Ranked, ABS Ranked and Scopus/ISI indexed. From 2014-2016, his papers on research in accounting regulation were the most downloaded published articles from these journals. Dr. Nurunnabi currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of PSU Research Review: An International Journal, Emerald, and Senior Associate Editor of Journal of the Knowledge Economy, Springer (SCOPUS Indexed). He serves on the editorial boards of twelve journals including Journal of Knowledge Management (Emerald), The Arab Economics and Business Journal (Elsevier), Asia Pacific Journal of Business Administration (Emerald), The International Journal of Accounting (Elsevier), Journal of Accounting Education (Elsevier), Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business Research (Emerald). In the past, he has received numerous prestigious research and teaching awards, including an Outstanding Research Certificate from Prince Sultan University (2015), a Certificate of Appreciation for financial leadership and reporting from ACCA (2014), and honors for academic excellence in research and teaching (2013) from Channel S, a U.K.-based TV channel. In 2014, IMA also recognized him for his outstanding service as an IMA Campus Advocate. Globally, only two faculty members are awarded this recognition annually. The awardees will be announced during the IMA Annual Conference and Exposition in Denver, USA on June 18, 2017.
