Raising Compliance Awareness Workshop

Dr. Emna Chikhaoui's workshop, “Raising compliance awareness”, held on October 18, 2024, focused on fostering a culture of compliance at Prince Sultan University (PSU). The session introduced the structure, mission, and vision of the PSU Compliance Office, which aims to ensure ethical governance, regulatory adherence, and sustainability across the university.

Dr. Chikhaoui outlined the roles of the Compliance Office team, including legal specialists and administrative staff, and emphasized the importance of understanding PSU’s key compliance policies, such as the Code of Conduct and conflict of interest rules. She discussed the risks of non-compliance, such as reputational damage, legal consequences, and data protection issues, and explained the mechanisms for reporting misconduct, grievances, or violations, including the use of an online form and direct communication with the Compliance Office.

A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to understanding the compliance program, which encourages staff and faculty to fully engage with institutional policies and maintain ethical standards. The session concluded with a practical flowchart detailing how reported cases are analyzed, processed, and resolved by the relevant disciplinary or grievance committees.

To reinforce the concepts covered in the workshop, participants completed a quiz at the end, testing their understanding of compliance policies and procedures. This interactive element helped ensure that attendees left with a deeper understanding of their role in promoting a culture of compliance at PSU.
