Department of Interior Design

Welcome to the Department of Interior Design at Prince Sultan University (PSU). The Interior Design program at PSU is accredited by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) in the United States. The learning objectives of the program align with those of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). The fulfilment of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 national transformation initiative is central to our goal. The Interior Design Department provides a high-quality learning experience that prepares students for employment in the field by developing knowledge and practical competencies. In a world of continuously evolving design concepts and techniques, along with emerging topics in design in the twenty-first century, we focus on providing education for sustainable development. The Interior Design program at PSU is supported by research practices that incorporate sustainable strategies and emerging technological innovations in design with a human-centred design process while addressing our current demands and cultural preferences. Despite our multidisciplinary approach, our designers, artists, researchers, technicians, and scientists are committed to addressing social issues and promoting creative expression and independence of thought. By facilitating students' participation in competitions and conferences, as well as visits to exhibitions, studios, and design firms, our faculty members mentor students in professional practice settings. By introducing them to the activities and discourse of design professionals, they will become part of a new generation of designers who will consider our past while developing a vision for the future of our society. With 75% of our alumni hired within six months of graduation, we are confident that our graduates are well-prepared with the knowledge and skills that position them as leaders in the field, both in Saudi Arabia and worldwide. We are pleased to have you join us on the PSU Interior Design Program and wish you the very best of luck.

The Interior Design program was developed taking into account the needs of the local community and the increasing demands of professional and university-educated interior designers. In addition, the content and structure of well-known and accredited programs at prominent universities are taken into consideration along with the recommendations of leading international bodies. This enables program graduates to obtain the necessary professional skills that embark on successful industrial careers and/or pursue higher education in Interior Design.
