The 26 students of PSU (ABA Association Program), accompanied by Ms. Dawn Schock, Dr. Paula Kenny and Dr. Maha AlMaiman.

Program of the Visit

Meet and Greeting

The Managing Partner Abdulaziz Al-Bosaily welcomed the students of PSU in his law office with two of his associates, Mr. AbdulRahman Al-Ohaly and Ms. Dana Bashayan. He briefly described Clyde & Co’s operations, internationally and in Saudi Arabia more specifically.

Client Management

The associates began by explaining the importance of “clients”. Their satisfaction is fundamental because they are the assets of the law firm.

Conflict Clearance

The associates then described the process of avoiding any conflict with clients. This procedure is essential to determine whether or not Clyde & Co can represent a client or not.

Case Study

They gave us a practical case to understand how a conflict is possible and how they had to notify their potential client that they cannot work for them.

Questions

Students and the Partner/associates discussed many topics: the criteria to be hired in an international law firm, the different certificates/trainings students can take, the different areas of law Clyde & Co is covering, the question of tax law in Saudi Arabia, the added value a lawyer can have to be successful.

Meet the team

We finished the visit by taking a tour in their office. We met our PSU COOP Students and the different departments of Clyde & Co (corporate law, insurance).

The visit was very successful. It was an interactive and interesting discussion between the students and the staff. The Managing Partner highlighted that law students in PSU are well prepared and a great asset to any law firm.
