Dr. Sultan Alshareef is a sustainability thought leader who has led and delivered numerous sustainability strategies, frameworks as well as many other green initiatives at various levels. He conducted, led, and was a key contributor to many projects, including Saudi Arabia's national roadmap for green economy and sustainable development back in 2019, national environmental performance indicators, AlUla's sustainability charter, circular economy and resilience approaches, AlUla's Circular Carbon Economy strategy, sustainable tourism strategies and other sustainability implementation plans in high-profile projects. He has been an important contributor to the realization of the Saudi Green Initiative since its inception back in 2021 with proven records.

Dr. Alshareef's concrete background enabled him to establish a number of sustainability and environmental departments in a range of different businesses. He also led and participated in various Saudi delegations like in the UN High-Level- Political-Forum on SDGs, COP27, Greening Governments Initiative by US Government, World Trade Organization Ministerial meetings, other multilateral and bilateral discussions and cooperation and other international major events as well. Dr. Alshareef is well-known for his passion and commitment for sustainability, and he has been active on social media, TV shows, and international sustainability and climate conferences.

He has a PhD in the topic of sustainability in the built environment from Trinity College Dublin, as well as two Master's degrees in construction engineering and management as well as planning from New York University in the United States. Dr. Alshareef's sustainability knowledge and expertise, aided by the high-profile education and entities for whom he worked for actually made him become a multidisciplinary professional who believes that human capacities can expand far beyond sustainability.
