Solar pv based speed control of dc motor using ardiuno for fan and pump applications

In line with the Saudi Vision 2030, students of Electrical Machines course in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Abdul Rahman Al-Zeer, Talal Al-Sharif and Abdulelah Al-Yemeni, under the supervision of Dr. Uma Shankar and Eng.Sivakumar completed a project related to the operation and speed control of a DC motor powered by solar energy. The DC motor is used in electric cars, household appliances ,pumps and refrigeration. The projects aims to:
1- preserve the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions
2- contributing to the liquid fuel displacement program.

In addition, the project serves the United Nations Sustainable Development 17 Goals 2030, which are:
1- Affordable and Clean energy. (SDG#7)
2-Industry, innovation and infrastructure. (SDG#9)
3-Climate Action. (SDG#13)
4- Partnerships for the goals. (SDG#17)

The solar panel used supplies the motor with a voltage of 24 volts and a current of up to 1.5 amps at the maximum speed of the motor. Which equals 36 watts. This work aims to develop students' skills in sustainability technology and techniques required to achieve future goals for the country and the world.
